Glass Fibre Reinforced
VEAM International specializes in the supply of Moulded & Pultruded grating, stairtreads, Fixings, Pultruded Profiles/Sections & Handrailing to the mining, on-shore and off-shore gas and petro-chemical plants, marine, water treatment plants, materials handling and the food processing and beverage industries. These are available in Isophthalic polyester (IFR), Vinylester (VEFR) and Phenolic (PH) resins.
Moulded Grating
Glass Fibre Reinforced Products
As with steel commonly used in walkways and platforms and normally supplied with a non-slip quartz grit surface. A concave and a smooth top surface can also be specified. Manufactured in an open heated mould with resin reinforced in both directions with glass fibre rovings giving strength in both directions with a 60% resin, 40% fibre ratio. Designed for corrosive areas and acid environments with fire retardant and UV resistance properties. Advantages include being lighter than steel grating, non-conductive, low on maintenance and available in many different colours.

Pultruded Grating
Glass Fibre Reinforced Products
Same applications and advantages as with moulded grating but manufactured with ‘I’ or ‘T’ section which are pultruded through a heated die with glass fibre rovings and interlocked with pultruded solid transverse bars. Stronger than moulded grating with a 60% fibre, 40 % resin ratio. Commonly specified for heavier load areas and installation in off-shore rigs.

Stairtreads
Glass Fibre Reinforced Products
Suitable for steps in stairways and can be supplied with non-slip nosing. Normally specified in ‘flush’ sizes for mounting on angle support attached to the stringer supports. Used in many of the same industries as grating.
Fixings
Glass Fibre Reinforced Products
Used to fix grating and stairtreads to support work. The most common design is the ‘M’ type which fits over the bearer bars supplied complete with bolts, nyloc nuts and washers. A slotted bottom plate is also available for use with the ‘M’ type fixing to attach to the support work underneath. A ‘C’ type fixing is also available which joins panels to reduce possible movement of panels off the support work.
- Available in: Stainless Steel 304 & 316
Pultruded Profiles/Sections
Glass Fibre Reinforced Products
Manufactured in many different structural shapes similar to steel sections which are pultruded through a heated die with glass matting and fibre rovings. Shapes include ‘I’ and ‘H’ beams, round and square tubes, angles and channels.
Handrailing
Glass Fibre Reinforced Products
Available in round and square pultruded tubing for both the uprights and the hand & kneerails. The top-rail can also be in a continuous channel type rail. Two and three-hole baseplates are used as the upright supports and specially moulded side supports can be used on stairways.
